About the Role Join the Latinx Mental Health and Social Justice Institute at Antioch University as a part-time remote Research Assistant (Work Study). You will support ongoing research projects and grant-seeking initiatives focused on mental health and social justice for the Latinx/e community, helping to develop a sustainable research agenda and funding strategies.
What You'll Do
- Attend weekly supervisor meetings (1 hour) and weekly research team meetings (1-2 hours)
- Conduct literature reviews (5–10 hours per week) and assist with IRB documentation as needed
- Support data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of findings at relevant project stages
- Identify potential dissemination outlets (journals, conferences) and assist with grant writing and funding-seeking strategies
- Help with fundraising initiatives and novice scholarship ideas, including the potential creation of an academic journal
- Collaborate on institute projects and initiatives and adapt tasks to current priorities
What We're Looking For
- Strong interest in and basic understanding of the Latinx/e community; commitment to Latine/x well-being, mental health, and social justice
- Passion for research, scholarship, and grant writing/fundraising; organized and capable of APA-style academic writing
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and meet goals; willingness to learn about research and grant seeking
- Prior research and grant-writing/fund-seeking experience preferred
- Spanish proficiency not required but valued
- Familiarity with remote collaboration and ability to log hours and report progress weekly
Nice to Have
- Prior hands-on experience with grant proposals or fundraising campaigns
- Spanish language skills (even basic) considered a plus
