Job title: Research Assistant - Latinx Mental Health and Social Justice Institute (Remote, Part-Time)
About the Role The Latinx Mental Health and Social Justice Institute at Antioch University is seeking two part-time, remote Research Assistants to contribute to ongoing research and grant-seeking initiatives focused on mental health and social justice for the Latinx/e community.
What You'll Do
- Work with the Institute’s executive board to establish, promote, and grow the Latinx Mental Health and Social Justice Institute in support of the Latinx community through research initiatives.
- Support the institute's sustainability through grant writing and fund-seeking strategies.
- Participate in weekly meetings with supervisor (1 hour) and weekly working meetings with the Institute’s research team (1-2 hours).
- Conduct literature reviews (5–10 hours) and search for resources and dissemination outlets (journals, conference presentations, etc.) (2–4 hours).
- Engage in institute projects/initiatives related to research and grants as they are developed (5–10 hours).
- Support fundraising initiatives and novice scholarship ideas, including creation of an academic journal (5–10 hours).
- Activities will vary depending on progress of current research projects and grant-seeking options.
What We're Looking For
- Strong interest in and basic understanding of the Latinx/e community; interest in research, scholarship, and grant writing/fund-raising activities.
- Commitment to Latine/x community well-being, particularly related to mental health and social justice.
- Passion for research; organized; skilled in academic writing (APA format); able to take initiative and meet institute goals.
- Prior research and grant writing/fund-seeking experience preferred.
- Spanish proficiency not required but valued.
- Task will be assigned according to institute priorities and needs, and divided according to availability, skills, and prior experience.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate details are not specified in the posting; the role is 20 hours per week and remote. Compensation is on an hourly basis.
