About the Role Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Research and Development (R&D) Test Engineer to develop testing infrastructure and validate Silvus’ MANET radios and wireless products in a fast-paced environment. This 100% onsite role is based at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA. What You'll Do
- Wireless communication system test operation, implementation, and maintenance.
- Assist in the maintenance, design, and implementation of testing software for automated testing and logging.
- Work closely with the R&D and Engineering teams to understand performance requirements and validate/troubleshoot new designs.
- Conduct lab testing using wireless channel emulators and other instruments.
- Conduct field testing to qualify system performance in practical environments.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Travel: Occasional domestic travel, including overnight, to support experimentation and demonstrations. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in embedded firmware development and testing, scripting, embedded Linux, C/C++, and Python; OR 1 year with an advanced degree.
- Demonstrated experience in wireless networking or electronics manufacturing environments.
- Experience with lab instruments such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
- U.S. Citizenship due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
- Ability to pass background check and drug test. Nice to Have
- Experience programming in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Exposure to networked testing systems.
- Experience testing embedded radio communication systems.
- General familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems. Compensation & Benefits
- COMPENSATION: $85,000 - $130,000 annually. Pay transparency note: offer based on candidate skills and experience. As a US Federal Contractor, US Person requirement applies.
