About the Role The Research and Development Engineer (CFD) will contribute to advanced computational fluid dynamics projects to support design and performance optimization in a defense-related setting. Based in Springfield, VA with potential additional locations, this role focuses on building and validating CFD models, running simulations, and translating results into actionable guidance for engineering teams. What You'll Do
- Develop and validate CFD models to support R&D programs and product development.
- Execute simulations, analyze results, and compare with experimental data to drive design decisions.
- Collaborate with mechanical, aerodynamics, and systems engineers to implement performance improvements.
- Document methods, findings, and recommendations for program reviews and technical reports. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on experience with CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent/CFX, OpenFOAM) and post-processing.
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to communicate complex results clearly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to evolving requirements.
