Job title: Rental Systems Depot Manager
About the Role The Carrier Rental Systems Depot Manager leads a solutions-oriented team that provides customers with the service required to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales and profitability objectives. This role blends technical skills with a passion for customers and will plan and execute innovative solutions for a large geographic area from our Dallas, TX location.
What You'll Do
- Establishes, assigns, and adjusts work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of the capacities and capabilities of depot personnel
- Ensures technicians’ daily activities are scheduled
- Performs regular depot audits to ensure quality equipment repair and testing; communicates with technicians regarding improvements or areas of concern
- Oversees and manages timely and accurate depot purchasing, booking, invoicing, and collections process
- Financial responsibilities include obtaining quotes from vendors for parts or repair options and communicating with Regional Leadership regarding “Best Fix Options”
- Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget
- Assists the sales department in the selection and application of proper equipment and accessories for complex rentals
- Provides technical support to the sales department, both at the depot and on job site visits
- Engages directly with external customers and vendors when conflicts arise
- Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and others concerning equipment operations or maintenance
- Initiates measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of work
- Inspects work in process to ensure completion within allotted time limits and to acceptable quality standards
- Conducts formal operations meetings regularly
- Ensures fleet readiness, accessories, and spare parts inventories are at acceptable levels and that equipment fleet and accessories are accurate and up to date in the systems
- Reviews all written labor documents regularly
- Directs and guides the lead service techs to prioritize labor hours on a daily and weekly basis
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of experience leading, developing and coaching a team
- 3+ years of experience in Commercial Rental Equipment industry
- Valid driver’s license
- Customer mindset
- Strong focus on technical, operations and logistics
Nice to Have
- Experience managing a P&L
- Chiller or HVAC product experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $96,000 - $192,000 yearly
- This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements
