About this role
BetterPros - Remote Structural Engineering Role
What will I do in a remote Structural Engineering role?
You’ll help U.S.-based firms with technical documentation, calculations, structural modeling, and project coordination. You’ll work alongside engineers, architects, and project managers to develop precise, code-compliant documents that support construction and design decisions.
We’ll match you with a client whose work style aligns with yours. Some professionals prefer fixed hours, like 8 to 5, while others value more flexibility. Either way, the client sets the expectations, and we make sure to connect you with a company that fits your preferred way of working, all from the comfort of your own home.
What skills are important for remote Structural Engineering roles?
- Structural Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS, or Robot Structural Analysis.
- Technical Accuracy: Ability to interpret engineering designs and translate them into precise structural documentation.
- Knowledge of Codes & Standards: Familiarity with U.S. structural codes (ACI, AISC, etc.) and detailing practices.
- Documentation & Drafting: Ability to prepare construction drawings, structural details, and calculation sets.
- Collaboration: Communicating effectively with architects, engineers, and teams remotely.
Do I need a degree or certification to apply?
A degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus, as are certifications related to structural design or BIM platforms, but they’re not mandatory. We value professionals who can deliver accurate documentation, solve structural challenges, and contribute meaningfully to real-world projects, regardless of formal credentials.
