Remote Accountant / Accounting Specialist

Accounting Responsibilities

As an Accountant / Accounting Specialist, your duties will include:

• Recording financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Reconciling general ledger accounts, journal entries, and bank statements
• Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Reviewing monthly financials and performance metrics to help improve cash flow and business efficiency
• Comparing annual budgets and cash flow forecasts against actual results
• Preparing and submitting annual and quarterly taxes to city, county, state, and federal authorities
• Supporting additional accounting, finance, bookkeeping, and administrative duties as assigned

Required and Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Competency in preparing local, state, and federal taxes for a small company
• A minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs preferred
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and writing skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams and departments
• A flexible, team-oriented mindset and the ability to work well under pressure
• Experience working with a startup preferred
• Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time
• Ability to complete other duties as assigned
• Candidates may be tested on QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and other relevant accounting skills.

Compensation

For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay for this position ranges from $17 to $50 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. For candidates outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the listed range.
