Job title: Regulatory Service Technologist
About the Role The Regulatory Service Technologist will contribute to all areas of R&D regulatory services and manage regulatory technical service projects to help achieve business strategies and departmental objectives in a timely manner.
What You'll Do
- Initiate, plan, and monitor assigned regulatory projects to ensure timely execution.
- Draft, implement, and maintain product specifications utilizing the Bachoco USA Specification System.
- Oversee labeling functions, including Child Nutrition labeling, and stay current on government labeling rulings.
- Manage nutritional functions, including maintaining the nutritional database, creating product recipes, and generating customer reports.
- Create and maintain external customer specification databases (iCiX, Retail Link, ProSpec, ASPECT, 1SYNC, and other customer databases).
- Exercise independent decision-making, handle pressure, coordinate multiple projects, and interact with departmental peers.
- No supervisory responsibilities; involved in training of new hires.
What We're Looking For
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree or 1–3 years of regulatory experience, and/or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
- Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license.
- Computer Skills: Extensive typing skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software (Word and Excel); basic Windows software knowledge.
- Other: Must be available for office hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday); some after-hours work including weekends and light traveling may be required.
