Job title: Regulatory Reporting Specialist
About the Role Regulatory Reporting Specialist responsible for accurate, timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports to Chinese authorities including CBIRC, PBOC, SAFE, and insurance associations. You will manage a high-volume, time-sensitive reporting portfolio, perform data validation and reconciliation, and contribute to continuous process improvements with the reporting team.
What You'll Do
- Execute end-to-end preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual regulatory reports per calendar for CBIRC, PBOC, SAFE, and insurance associations.
- Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all submitted reports.
- Conduct reconciliations between system-generated data and reported figures; perform reasonableness checks and variance analysis; escalate data issues to supervisor and IT/business owners.
- Perform preliminary analysis to identify trends, outliers, or variations; prepare summarized insights and exception reports for management review; use Excel, pivot tables, Power Query, and data visualization tools.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes; participate in process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation; prepare and update SOPs covering the full operational cycle.
- Support ad-hoc regulatory surveys, questionnaires, and internal/external audit requests.
- Participate in AIG corporate AML training and perform AML duties including KYC, large/suspicious transaction reports, and high-risk customer reports.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks/projects as assigned by managers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or above in accounting; CPA or ACCA preferred.
- Finance-related work experience; insurance industry and audit firm experience a plus.
- Strong ethics; good communication, problem solving and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI.
- Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Good oral and written English.
- Willingness to learn and improve.
- Note: role expects in-office presence in Shanghai.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in regulatory reporting for Chinese authorities (CBIRC, PBOC, SAFE) or in a similar financial services environment.
