As a Regulatory Escalations Manager, you will own the resolution of Meta's most complex, time-sensitive regulatory escalations across the Family of Apps - spanning government inquiries, content regulation mandates, and cross-jurisdictional compliance incidents. You will work at the boundary of human judgment and AI-assisted operations, translating regulatory complexity into decisive action and scalable workflows that protect Meta and the people who use its platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve high-priority regulatory escalations end-to-end, including government inquiries, content regulation mandates, and cross-jurisdictional compliance incidents, ensuring timely resolution within defined SLAs

  • Coordinate cross-functional response strategies across Legal, Policy, Communications, Engineering, and other partners on escalations carrying regulatory, reputational, or legal risk, translating complexity into clear decisions and accountable next steps

  • Synthesize regulatory context, case findings, and risk assessments into structured executive-level communications that enable informed decision-making by leadership and cross-functional partners

  • Identify systemic patterns across regulatory escalations and surface root cause hypotheses that inform upstream policy, product, and operational improvements

  • Design and iterate on AI-assisted workflows, decision trees, and runbooks specific to regulatory escalation case types, reducing manual handling time and improving consistency of outcomes

  • Critically evaluate AI-generated assessments and recommended actions on regulatory cases, documenting failure patterns and feeding structured corrections back into workflow systems

  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in applicable regulatory frameworks, including content moderation obligations and platform accountability requirements, to support rapid and accurate decision-making

  • Contribute to on-call coverage within a global team, maintaining readiness to respond to urgent regulatory incidents across time zones and outside standard business hours

  • Document investigation methodologies and resolution approaches for novel regulatory case types, building institutional knowledge that scales beyond individual expertise

  • Support peers through case reviews and real-time calibration on regulatory judgment, contributing to the team's collective capability and quality standards

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, escalations management, trust and safety, legal operations, government affairs, or a related operational field involving regulatory risk

  • Experience managing time-sensitive, high-stakes situations with sound judgment and the ability to drive resolution with minimal supervision

  • Experience synthesizing complex regulatory, legal, or policy information into clear written communications for varied audiences, including leadership and cross-functional partners

  • Experience building effective working relationships and collaborating across teams with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Active, daily proficiency with AI tools - including prompt engineering, AI-assisted investigation, and workflow automation - with the ability to critically evaluate and override AI outputs

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structured AI evaluation practices such as prompt testing, failure mode analysis, or rubric-based quality review

  • Track record of identifying systemic issues from individual case patterns and translating findings into actionable recommendations for policy or process improvement

  • Familiarity with content moderation frameworks, or platform accountability requirements across multiple jurisdictions

  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

  • Experience designing or improving AI-assisted workflows, decision trees, or automation that measurably improved operational efficiency or outcome quality

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
