About the Role The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources invites unemployed youth to apply for two government entry-level Registry Clerk roles in the Office of the Minister and Office of the Deputy Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development in Gauteng (Pretoria). These roles support registry duties, mail handling, filing, and records management within the public service. What You'll Do
- Provide registry counter services and attend to clients
- Handle telephonic and other enquiries; receive, register and dispatch mail and files
- Receive, sort, register and dispatch mail; distribute registry notices
- Maintain filing and record management; open/close files and manage classifications
- Filing/storage, tracing and retrieval of documents/files; complete index cards
- Operate office machines related to registry; manage Franking machine register and post franking
- Reconcile and record money, maintain remittance registers, and handle remittances to finance
- Conduct spot checks on mail, ensure no private post, and secure post in postbags
- Process documents for archiving and disposal What We're Looking For
- A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of registry duties, data capture, and computer operation
- Understanding of the Public Service legislative framework, and registry procedures
- Skills in planning and organisation, computer literacy, language and communication (verbal and written), interpersonal relations, teamwork, and flexibility Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: R228 321 per annum (Level 05)
