About the Role Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Nights at Covington LTACH. The RN delivers, directs and supervises patient care on the unit using the nursing process, coordinates interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning and post-hospitalization education for patients and families.

What You'll Do

• Collaborates with physician to provide a plan of care that will return the patient to optimal health.
• Provides bedside nursing care and carries out medical orders.
• Delegates to and oversees Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Associate, OB Care Associate, Surgical Service Assistant, Nursing Clerk and Psychiatric Tech.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan.
• Assumes a leadership role, integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice and coordinating nursing tasks.
• Facilitates/participates in patient conferences and discharge/transfer planning conferences.
• Identifies and provides ongoing discharge/transfer teaching needs by communicating with resource persons and attending planning conferences.
• Pursues professional growth through educational opportunities; precepts/mentors new employees and students; teaches professional and ancillary staff.
• Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license to practice in the state listed in the job posting (Michigan in the source).
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia course if not already certified.
• Must satisfactorily complete ACLS and Basic Neuroscience course within one year of hire/transfer.
• Must satisfactorily complete Non-violent Physical Intervention course within one year of hire/transfer.
• Must satisfactorily complete TNCC within two years of hire/transfer.
• Must satisfactorily complete PALS within two years of hire/transfer.
