About the Role Logan Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) at Shelby Critical Access Hospital to provide primary care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team. The role includes patient assessment, treatment planning, medical care evaluation, and supporting patients and families, while guiding assigned team members as needed.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care across assigned areas (eg, Acute Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Outpatient) in accordance with RN standards of care and organizational policies.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized nursing care using the nursing process; document in the electronic health record and conduct timely reassessments.
- Transcribe and implement provider orders; monitor patient status and respond to changes; maintain safety and infection control practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices; participate in continuing education and competency training (eg, chest tube, defibrillator, hemodynamic, central-line, wound-vac).
- Educate patients and families about health needs; provide support to patients, families and caregivers; participate in discharge planning when applicable.
- Precept and/or assist with the orientation of new personnel; collaborate with the care team to ensure quality patient care.
- Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; maintain documentation in the EHR.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an RN program from an accredited school of nursing; Montana RN license or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice in Montana; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar medical setting (acute care, clinic, or hospital) preferred; experience in assigned area(s) preferred.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and principles of nursing practice; CPR and/or BLS required (HCP per service area).
- Certifications: NRP, PALS, ACLS within 12 months of hire (TNCC or ENPC within 18 months); PRN: BLS, NRP, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC as applicable.
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality; familiarity with OSHA guidelines and procedural safety.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team and independently; strong problem-solving ability.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office and EHR systems; adaptability to learn new software.
Nice to Have
- BSN degree (preferred) and additional certifications relevant to the assigned area(s).
- Prior cross-training in multiple nursing areas.
