Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU - Full Time (Days)
About the Role The Registered Nurse (RN) 2 provides comprehensive nursing care for a defined patient population within the ICU/department, addressing simple to complex multi-system needs in a safe, therapeutic environment. The RN uses growth and development principles, assesses patient data, plans and evaluates care, and collaborates with families and the health care team. This role reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager and may supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel.
What You'll Do
- Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment and interprets data to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
- Develops, evaluates and revises patient's plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient needs. Documents care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes.
- Directs and supervises others in the performance of delegated nursing activities.
- Teaches the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care. Prepares patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer or preparation for procedure/test.
- Manages time and resources to deliver patient care.
- Administers medications to patients. Provides direct patient care.
- Leads the health care team. Serves as a Resource Person for assigned shift.
- Serves as a preceptor for new employees.
- Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Licensure: Registered Nurse - New Hampshire Board of Nursing; Basic Life Support - American Heart Association.
- Experience: One year prior clinical nursing experience; ability to work effectively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team; evidence of ability to work as a team.
- Must be able to perform as a member of a team.
Nice to Have
- BSN preferred.
