About the Role Provides direct patient care as part of the Medical Surgical 2E team, collaborating with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other health care professionals to deliver tailored nursing care. Assesses patient needs, plans, implements, and evaluates care in alignment with growth/development, hospital and nursing philosophy, policies and standards. Demonstrates leadership and professional accountability with a commitment to professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical patients as part of the 2E team.
- Assess patient needs, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, peers, physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies, standards and nursing philosophy; demonstrate leadership and accountability; participate in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain required certifications and training pertinent to assigned department (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) and stay current with growth/development and nursing best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Education: BSN or MSN, or enrollment in RN-BSN/RN-MSN within 1 year of hire and completion within 5 years if hired after 7/1/2012.
- Licensure/Certifications: California RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) required in all departments upon hire; department-specific certifications with timelines (ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE where applicable).
- Fetal monitoring: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring as required by assigned unit; STABLE course completion within 30 days of hire for Postpartum RN when applicable.
- Neonatal care: Associated certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) per unit assignment.
- Other: Some cost centers require AWHONN certification or related credentials.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $43.38 - $70.17 per hour.
- Sign-On Bonus Eligible.
- This is a full-time (36 hours/week) night-shift position with 12-hour shifts.
