About the Role The Registered Nurse (RN) 2 provides nursing care for a population-specific patient group in the Skilled and Restorative Care Unit, from simple to complex cases with multi-system issues, in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN assesses data, plans and evaluates care, and collaborates with the care team while adhering to specialty and organizational standards. The RN may supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel and reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager.
What You'll Do
- Assess patients and develop, implement and revise plans of care based on history and physical assessment.
- Gather data and interpret information to meet age-specific patient needs.
- Document care provided and progress toward outcomes.
- Direct and supervise others in delegated nursing activities.
- Educate patients and families about the plan of care and discharge or transfer preparation.
- Manage time and resources to deliver patient care.
- Administer medications and provide direct patient care.
- Lead the healthcare team and serve as a Resource Person for the shift.
- Serve as a preceptor for new employees.
- Perform job-specific duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse – New Hampshire Board of Nursing. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
- One year of prior clinical nursing experience; ability to work effectively with patients, care providers, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of ability to function as a team member and exercise sound clinical judgment.
Nice to Have
- BSN degree preferred.
- Experience as a preceptor or in mentoring new staff.
