Job title: Registered Nurse - Post Surgical Unit PSU
About the Role Join Bay Area Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Post Surgical Unit (PSU) on nights. This role applies the nursing process to post-surgical patient care, provides patient and family teaching, and documents care in the EMR. The RN collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced unit.
What You'll Do
- Apply the nursing process to the care of Post Surgical Unit (PSU) patients within the RN scope defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
- Teach patients and significant others.
- Document patient care in the medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care.
- Respond effectively to patient crises or emergencies.
- Maintain proficiency with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance and adapt to night shift requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Active Registered Nurse license in Oregon.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Recent acute care hospital experience preferred (within the past 5 years).
- Excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing patient and unit environment.
- Effective teaching skills and ability to educate patients and families.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and general computer skills.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability; reliable attendance.
Nice to Have
- Recent acute care hospital experience within past 5 years (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $47.82 - $71.26 per hour.
- Sign-on and relocation offered.
- Hours per pay period: 80.
- Shift: Nights.
