About the Role Registered Nurse - Per Diem Level I in the Intermediate Care Unit (Nights) provides patient assessment, care coordination, and education at Northwest Community Hospital. This per diem role requires scheduling flexibility (minimum 48 hours every 6 weeks, including 24 weekend hours) with orientation in the first two weeks. What You'll Do
- Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
- Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are safe, timely and appropriate.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team in person, by phone and in writing.
- Individualizes patient and family teaching based on thorough assessment to meet learning needs.
- Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.
- Attends nursing orientation during the first two weeks of employment (orientation schedule: first week Mon-Thu 8:00am-4:30pm; second week Tue 8:00am-4:30pm). What We're Looking For
- Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to work at least 48 hours every 6 weeks (including 24 weekend hours).
- Per Diem Level I status and willingness to work nights. Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $36.00 - $55.80.
- Eligibility for Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) for eligible positions.
