About the Role The Pediatric Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit (PCTU) at University of Michigan's Mott Children's Hospital is a 20-bed tertiary care unit focused on infants, children, adolescents, and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. This role supports family-centered care in a high-technology environment as part of a collaborative team. What You'll Do
- Provide nursing care in a technology-intensive environment including ECMO, CRRT, and VADs
- Perform complex physiologic assessments for high-acuity patients with rapidly changing status
- Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and fellows to educate and support families throughout ICU admission
- Assist with ongoing patient and family education and care planning
- Contribute to a unit expanding by 9 beds in spring 2027 What We're Looking For
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 18 months congenital heart RN experience
- PALS certification required (within 6 months of hire or completed prior to end of probationary period)
- Resume required for applicants
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a family-centered care model Nice to Have
- BSN preferred
- PALS or ACLS certification
- Additional experience with the congenital heart patient population
