About this role
Registered Nurse in the Medical Care Unit (MCU) at Bay Area Hospital. Within the RN scope of practice per the Oregon State Board of Nursing, you will apply the nursing process to patient care, teach patients and families, document care in the medical record, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall care.
What You'll Do
- Apply the nursing process to patient care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
- Teach patients and significant others.
- Document patient care in the medical record.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall care of the patient.
What We're Looking For
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Oregon.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Able to read, write, and converse effectively in English; strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible, able to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs; effective teaching skills.
- Proficient in computer use, EMR/documentation, and maintaining attendance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork; respond effectively to patient crises or emergencies.
- Experience in acute care hospital setting preferred (within past 5 years).
Nice to Have
- Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $47.82 - $71.26 USD hourly.
