Registered Nurse - Infusion Clinic - Per Diem Level 3 - Shifts Vary

About the Role

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality, individualized infusion therapy nursing care for patients and families in the Elmhurst Cancer Center infusion clinic. This role covers standard injection therapy, infusion therapy, and care of patients on research protocols, with emphasis on safe administration of injectable medications and infused agents. What You'll Do

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to the infusion center patient.

• Proficient in vascular access care, maintenance and management.

• Safely prepares, handles, administers and disposes of injectables and infused agents according to policy.

• Performs designated nursing and other patient care activities according to established nursing policies and procedures.

• Maintains knowledge and competency reflective of current standards of practice; contributes to professional development of peers.

• Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice and collaborates with potential research opportunities.

• Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.

• Communicates information to others as appropriate to maintain effective patient flow.

• Collaborates with the charge nurse and APN; promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.

• Guides and supervises staff in the provision of patient care and supports ongoing professional growth.

• Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes the need for action in emergencies.

• Documents thoroughly and timely; performs other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For

• 1 year of experience as a staff nurse (required).

• 1 year of professional infusion, hematology/oncology experience strongly preferred.

• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.

• License: Current Illinois nursing licensure required.

• Certification: CPR Certification through American Heart Association required.

• Current Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Card strongly preferred. Nice to Have

• BSN degree preferred.

• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Card preferred (if not already listed).

• Infusion/Hematology-Oncology experience strongly preferred. Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $36.00 - $55.80 per hour.
