Job title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)
About the Role Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift) provides urgent and emergent nursing care in a fast-paced ED, following the Oregon State Board of Nursing scope. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and document care in the EMR to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care to ED patients during night shifts, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
- Apply the nursing process and contribute to patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, technicians and other staff.
- Educate patients and significant others, and document care thoroughly in the medical record.
- Respond effectively to patient crises and emergencies, ensuring safety and infection control according to policies.
- Maintain accurate ED documentation in the electronic medical record and uphold professional standards and regular attendance.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure efficient patient flow and care continuity.
What We're Looking For
- Oregon RN license in good standing.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). ACLS within 6 months of hire; PALS or ENA Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 1 year; TNCC initial certification within 1 year; CEN or equivalent national certification preferred.
- Recent emergency nurse experience; recent acute care hospital experience within last 5 years.
- Ability to read, write and speak English; strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; effective teaching skills; proficient computer skills and EMR documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; able to sit/stand for long periods; adaptable to flexible scheduling, including nights.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; comfort working in high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- TNCC completion by timeframe; CEN preferred; trauma-related certifications.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $47.82 - $71.26 per hour USD.
