About the Role Cape Fox Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a Registered Nurse-Emergency Room to provide services at Keller Army Community Hospital, West Point, NY. This is a PRN position. The total hourly pay is $67.28 (base $62.35 + $4.93 Health & Welfare) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS). This is an on-site, non-exempt role with a rotating 12-hour schedule. Additional hours may be added or reduced as required by patient demand.
What You'll Do
- Provide urgent/acute/critical care to ill or injured patients of all ages with complex medical and surgical pathologies.
- Administer blood/blood products and critical care medications; monitor, mix, administer, and titrate medications with knowledge of actions and usual dosages.
- Perform physical exams and health histories; provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
- Administer medications, wound care, and other nursing interventions; arrange referrals and specialty care as appropriate.
- Recognize life-threatening arrhythmias; interpret arterial blood gases; manage hemodynamic data; perform synchronized/emergency cardioversion; apply noninvasive external pacemaker; perform emergency defibrillation; administer thrombolytics; assist with naso-gastric/gastro-intestinal suction.
- Support postoperative and sedation recovery and discharge within established criteria; assist with invasive procedures (arterial punctures, blood draws from invasive lines, endotracheal intubation); provide conscious (moderate) sedation.
- Care for patients on ventilators; manage advanced procedures with infection control considerations and life-support equipment.
- Manage hemodynamic monitoring: operate equipment, obtain variables, interpret data; respond appropriately.
- Triage and manage patient flow in the Emergency Room; document care on electronic charting; cross-train and float to alternate units during staffing shortages; assume Charge Nurse duties if needed.
- Ensure compliance with DHA/MTF policies, Joint Commission guidelines, and medical record procedures; participate in quality assurance and record-keeping activities.
What We're Looking For
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in the United States; ER/critical care experience preferred.
- Ability to deliver high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced environment; familiarity with emergency drugs and crash cart locations.
- Proficient in invasive procedures (arterial punctures, airway management, sedation, intubation) and advanced respiratory care; strong assessment and triage skills.
- Capable of operating in resuscitation and rapid response teams; effective documentation on electronic charting; adherence to DHA/MTF policies and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Willingness to cross-train and float to other units as needed; may assume Charge Nurse responsibilities in the absence of other qualified nurses.
Compensation & Benefits
- Total hourly pay: $67.28 ($62.35 base + $4.93 Health & Welfare) for up to 40 hours per week; non-exempt.
- On-site, rotating 12-hour shifts (0645-1845 and 1845-0645); additional hours may be added or reduced based on patient demand.
