Job title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Night Shift - Full Time
About the Role Registered Nurse – Emergency Department in Oregon, within the RN scope of practice defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. The role provides nursing care to ED patients, teaches patients and significant others, and documents care in the medical record while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall care.
What You'll Do
- Provide patient care in the Emergency Department following the nursing process and standards of care.
- Educate patients and significant others about health status, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Respond effectively to patient crises and emergencies and maintain patient and staff safety.
What We're Looking For
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Oregon.
- Recent Emergency Department nursing experience; acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years.
- Education/ Certifications: Oregon RN license; American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months; PALS or ENA Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 1 year; TNCC within 1 year; CEN or equivalent preferred; American Heart Association BLS; Safe/workplace violence training or obtain within 6 months (must be completed by the last day of the month following the 6-month grace period).
- Proficiency with computers and EMR; ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Able to sit/stand/walk; lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to respond to emergencies.
Nice to Have
- National certification in emergency nursing (CEN) or equivalent preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
