About the Role The Registered Nurse – Antepartum provides safe, compassionate nursing care to antepartum patients at Evanston Hospital. This full-time night-shift role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care, and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure optimal outcomes. What You'll Do
- Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes and evaluates progress toward outcomes, revising as needed.
- Performs patient assessment and collects health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
- Communicates plan of care to patient and family, respects wishes, and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
- Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.
- Individualizes patient and family teaching based on assessment, addressing learning needs, cultural background, and barriers.
- Provides teaching on disease management, emergency care and drug information; identifies community resources to support self-management.
- Participates in professional development, supports peers, and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education.
- Delegates tasks as needed and maintains a compassionate environment with psychological support.
- Assists technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, IV management, oxygen therapy and medication administration.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research; keeps abreast of wound/ostomy/skin care trends through ongoing education.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Assists in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
- If skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care and monitors treatment effectiveness.
- May float to the postpartum unit as needed. What We're Looking For
- Current Registered Nurse license.
- Antepartum experience (18 months) to be eligible for the $25,000 sign-on bonus.
- Night shift availability (1900-0730) with full-time schedule (36 hours per week) and weekend rotation.
- Ability to float to the postpartum unit.
- Strong communication and teaching skills; ability to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to HIPAA, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
- Interest in performance improvement and nursing research. Nice to Have
- Experience with wound/ostomy/skin care. Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $36.00 - $55.80
- Sign-on bonus: $25,000 (eligibility requires 18 months of Antepartum experience)
- Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week, weekend rotation
