Location/Region: This position owns the Southern California Region and must be a reasonable commuting distance to the Santa Ana facility.

The Regional Sales Manager represents Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, LLC in the planned and aggressive selling of Company products within the territory assigned pursuant to yearly sales goals and objectives, working with our sales distribution channels in educating and facilitating opportunities to maintain, develop and grow our current customer base of metrology products within the assigned region.

What’s the role?

  • Represent the Company in product demonstrations, training and presentations on all equipment and configurations to customers and potential customers within the confines of the assigned territory.
  • Establish and maintain a Distribution Channel capable of achieving set yearly goals.
  • Supervise, train and develop a competent distributor sales and technical staff in a manner which will lead to profitable sales growth. Increase product margins.
  • Assist in generating timely quotations to customers/potential customers in assigned territory.
  • Process and distribute sales leads generated from trade shows and other promotional product literature.
  • Evaluate sales activities, progress and results and take appropriate measures.
  • Develop short and long-term goals as to value, market position and profit on existing and new products.
  • Provide National Sales Manager with sales/performance reports.
  • Provide all pertinent information to the order processing and service groups to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements and prompt payment of account.
  • Follow up with customers after delivery to complete all sales requirements and conditions.
  • Guide and mentor the distributor sales representative to meet the set targets on time so that the overall sales objectives can be met as scheduled.
  • Develop a yearly regional sales plan and execute monthly, quarterly and annual sales performance targets.
  • Evaluate sales forecasting, activities and progress.
  • Develop short and long-term goals as to value, market position, and profit on existing and new products.
  • Strategic planning of resources and opportunities.
  • Interface with other key departments within the company (Production, Service, Engineering and Management).
  • Must have good negotiation skills.
  • Other duties as required.

Key Metrics

  • External indirect supervisory duties include motivating, educating and managing distributor sales representatives
  • Meeting yearly sales targets
  • Managing and reducing yearly expenses
  • Supplying an accurate monthly sales forecast
  • Increasing "state by state" market share based on USMTO data
  • Keeping the CRM (Act) sales opportunities and contacts current
  • Abiding to the company’s policies and code of ethics

Do you qualify?

  • Detail-oriented and accurate worker.
  • Knowledge of facility systems and their technical requirements.
  • Skilled at maintaining files and records – both paper and electronic.
  • Familiar with the operation of a computer with a MS Windows operating system.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Must have valid US driver's license.

The annual pay range for this position is $87,000 – $108,000. This position is also eligible for a sales commissions.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
