About the Role The University’s Office for Advancement is building a talent pool to fill future Regional Director of Development (RDD) opportunities. This externally facing role focuses on identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding alumni, parents, and friends for annual, major, and planned gifts, with the aim of building a qualified slate of candidates for future IWU advancement leadership. On-campus work is preferred, with remote options considered for qualified candidates.

What You'll Do

  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with assigned prospects to solicit for annual, major, and planned gifts; close endowed gifts and high-level annual gifts over time
  • Exceed annual production goals and complete approximately 150 personal prospect visits per year
  • Plan logistics for university leadership during prospect meetings; collaborate with the Director of Planned & Structured Giving
  • Document all contacts, communications, visits, opportunities, and related information in a timely manner
  • Set and sustain annual goals for the assigned portfolio in collaboration with AVP/VP for Advancement; evaluate prospects
  • Support annual and major gift stewardship and participate in department/alumni relations activities
  • Develop internal relationships with campus partners (athletics, school deans) and leverage partnerships for fundraising visits
  • Travel as required; perform other duties as assigned by VP/AVPs of Advancement

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales or similar field preferred; three years’ externally-focused fundraising or sales experience required
  • Experience with mid-to-large gifts; CFRE desirable but not required
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, listening) and ability to speak effectively with executives
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with constituents from diverse backgrounds and generations
  • Ability to work independently and within a team; strong work ethic and goal-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to travel; valid US driver's license; ability to work with ethical, professional, and positive representation of IWU
  • On-campus presence preferred; remote work considered for eligible states (listed in postings)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $60,000 – $91,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off, and access to multiple tuition programs for self and dependents
  • Remote work options may be available for qualified candidates; on-campus preference remains
  • Final candidate will pass a pre-employment background investigation
  • Also note: IWU does not sponsor work visas at hire or during employment; on-campus residency or approved remote status required at times
