Job title: Regional Controller – East
About the Role Regional Controller – East Region to support Tarkett Sports Construction Central, a partner in design-build and sports construction. You will lead accounting operations across multiple entities in the East Region, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and reporting, while developing regional finance teams and partnering with business leaders to drive performance.
What You'll Do
- Lead accounting operations across multiple entities within the East Region, ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, leases, loans, and intercompany transactions; support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and reporting deliverables; manage trial balance uploads into consolidation systems; review bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee payroll administration, tax filings, unemployment claims, garnishments, and retirement plan reporting.
- Lead project accounting activities and ensure proper application of percentage-of-completion accounting; review WIP schedules, revenue recognition, retainage, and over/under billing; partner with project managers to reflect project status in costs and billings; monitor cash flow and KPIs.
- Provide financial analysis and actionable recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Ensure internal controls and compliance with Tarkett Group policies; maintain audit readiness and liaison with internal/external auditors; mitigate risks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop regional finance team members; set performance expectations and foster accountability and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process standardization and automation; improve close cycle efficiency; champion standardized procedures; support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required.
- Minimum 5 years progressive accounting/finance experience; at least 3 years of leadership in construction or project-based environments.
- Experience supporting multi-entity operations and geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP/financial systems and BI tools a plus.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting.
Nice to Have
- Power BI or other BI tools experience.
