About the Role The University of Hartford seeks a Regional Admissions Counselor to manage a recruitment territory and support enrollment goals. This is a fully remote role assigned to specific geographic regions and involves direct engagement with prospective students, families, and high school counselors to promote the university and guide the college planning process. What You'll Do
- Independently manage and execute a comprehensive recruitment schedule in an assigned geographic territory.
- Regularly visit high schools, college fairs (regional and national), community-based events, transfer fairs, and other recruitment activities.
- Host recruitment and yield events in the assigned territory annually.
- Advise students and families on admission processes and next steps; conduct prospective student appointments and follow-up meetings.
- Evaluate applications using a holistic review process and meet yearly reading goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with school counselors, community-based organizations, independent educational consultants, and other influencers in the territory.
- Utilize CRM (Slate) and historical data to set goals, target schools, and report on territory performance and event ROI.
- Collaborate with Development & Alumni Affairs to engage alumni in recruitment efforts and educate volunteers on the university messaging.
- Travel to campus for staff training and on-campus recruitment events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Valid driver’s license required and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
- Comfort using CRM systems (e.g., Slate) and engaging in data-driven planning.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory and meet enrollment goals independently. Nice to Have
- Experience in college admissions or higher education recruitment.
- Familiarity with alumni relations and event coordination. Compensation & Benefits
- Hiring range: $47,000 per year
- This is a fully remote position with a 40-hour work week and 52 weeks per year.
