About the Role

Refrigeration Technician for Bachoco USA Fort Smith facility in Further Processing, 3rd shift. You will operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system and related equipment to keep plant temperatures stable and production running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system including spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 system, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot inoperable or malfunctioning machinery to identify root causes; monitor for unusual sounds or vibrations; communicate findings.
  • Dismantle and reassemble machinery, install parts, and perform repairs; clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts as part of Preventative Maintenance.
  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment; monitor facility temperatures and adjust as necessary.
  • Maintain required certifications for HAZMAT entry team and boiler license; complete OSHA checks of internal boilers.
  • Other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment in a food processing/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems; strong observational skills (listening for unusual sounds, feeling for unusual vibrations).
  • Must be able to attain and maintain HAZMAT entry team certification and boiler license; able to pass OSHA checks.
  • Willingness to work 3rd shift (8:00 PM - 5:00 AM) in an onsite plant facility.
  • Strong safety awareness and reliability.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with spiral freezers, CO2 systems, and large HVAC/plant utility systems.
  • Prior experience in poultry/food processing environments.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $21.00-$28.50 per hour based on assessment.
  • Benefits include competitive wages and comprehensive benefits package: 401K, Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, and more; $1/hour weekly attendance incentive.
  • 6 paid holidays/year (after 90 days); Paid Vacation (after 90, 180, and 270 days); 2 Personal Days/year (after 90 days).
