Job title: Recruitment Assistant

About the Role The Level One Recruitment Assistant serves as the first point of contact for visitors and callers at Schreiner University’s Welcome Center, helping ensure a welcoming and well-organized experience. This student position supports campus visitation efforts and admissions operations by handling front-desk inquiries, answering the main call line, and assisting admissions staff with basic information and CRM data. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions for Campus Visitation and Events, and requires timely timecard submission.

What You'll Do

  • Greet visitors at the Welcome Center with professionalism and warmth
  • Answer the university’s main call line, answer inquiries, and transfer callers appropriately
  • Provide general information about Schreiner University and basic admissions details
  • Navigate the CRM platform to locate student information and assist with accurate recordkeeping
  • Assist in scheduling campus visits and managing related office operations
  • Guide daily campus visitors through their on-campus experience
  • Deliver excellent customer service to students, families, faculty, staff, and community members
  • Develop working knowledge of Schreiner University history, departments, services, and resources
  • Build proficiency with phones, CRM, and related office technology
  • Adhere to university safety policies and office procedures

  • Knowledge of Schreiner University or admissions processes is a plus

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in customer service or campus visit coordination
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and university office environments

Compensation & Benefits

  • Workload: average 10 hours per week, not to exceed 250 hours total across fall and spring semesters
  • Earnings limit: up to $2,500 per academic year (fall and spring combined)
  • Exceptions: requests to earn more than $2,500 must be approved in advance by the Office of Meaningful Work
  • Job limits: may hold one on-campus job; maximum of 20 hours per week across all jobs (winter and summer terms capped at 30 hours)
  • Professional standards: student employment is a job; studying or attending class is not part of the job description
