About the Role The Recruiter at American Place Casino will own the full-cycle recruitment process to attract, engage, and hire top talent across hospitality, food & beverage, and operations. This role partners with business leaders to scale staffing for openings and large-scale hiring initiatives while upholding compliance with applicable regulations and delivering an exceptional candidate experience. What You'll Do
- Own the full-cycle recruitment process from requisition intake through onboarding for assigned departments.
- Independently manage a high-volume requisition workload while maintaining quality, speed, and an exceptional candidate experience.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, establish recruiting strategies, and provide market insights and hiring recommendations.
- Proactively source passive and active candidates through networking, referrals, social media, job boards, community partnerships, and direct outreach (headhunting).
- Conduct candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection while assessing technical qualifications and cultural fit.
- Lead offer negotiations, present compensation packages, and successfully close candidates; confidently challenge and influence hiring managers when necessary.
- Coordinate and execute hiring events, open interviews, career fairs, community outreach events, and large-scale hiring initiatives.
- Support mass hiring efforts for new business initiatives and operational growth.
- Create and maintain compelling job postings; develop and maintain relationships with workforce agencies, hospitality organizations, colleges, trade schools, military organizations, and community partners to build diverse talent pipelines.
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and recruitment documentation; monitor recruiting metrics and trends.
- Collaborate with HR and department leaders to ensure smooth onboarding and pre-employment processes; maintain confidentiality of candidate information. What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
- 4–5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in hospitality, gaming, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, distribution, or other high-volume environments.
- Demonstrated success managing an independent recruitment desk with multiple concurrent requisitions.
- Experience with hiring events, sourcing, offer negotiations, HR systems, and strong communication skills; ability to influence hiring managers and balance competing priorities.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and regulations relevant to gaming and hospitality operations. Nice to Have

- Salary: USD 50,000—USD 83,000 per year.
- Location: Onsite in Waukegan, Illinois; full-time role.
