About the Role The Recreation Facility Supervisor manages the daily operations of a City recreation/sports facility, overseeing staff, program implementation, facility maintenance, and customer service. This multi-incumbent role supports safe, efficient, and innovative recreational services for the public and may be assigned to any functional area within the department. What You'll Do

  • Oversee facility scheduling, opening/closing procedures, and advertising of recreational programs and special events.
  • Supervise and assist with classes, workshops, and daily activities; ensure policies for room reservations, participation tracking, equipment use, and facility upkeep are followed.
  • Maintain accountability for all record keeping and reporting of daily revenues, program revenues and incident/accident reports; assist with budget development.
  • Coordinate with the Department of Public Works to ensure upkeep and maintenance of grounds, equipment and parking lots of the assigned facility.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and apply certified emergency response skills (CPR, First Aid) as required. What We're Looking For
  • Associate's degree or higher in Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management, Leisure Services, Business Administration, Communications or a related field and one year of full-time paid supervisory/leadership experience; OR a High School diploma (or GED) and 6 years of full-time or 7 years of part-time (part-time defined as averaging 35 hours/week) paid supervisory/leadership experience in recreation, sports or leisure time activities.
  • Degree must be from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter.
  • Special requirements: Must obtain a valid First Aid and CPR with AED certification within 150 days of appointment and maintain thereafter. Incumbents assigned to the division of Recreation Youth Services must obtain and maintain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) within 12 months of appointment.
  • Background check, employment authorization and identity verification required prior to employment; all candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
  • Medical examination and drug and nicotine testing: final appointment contingent on passing; nicotine screening required; tobacco and nicotine-free policy applies to new hires. Compensation & Benefits
