About the Role
Recreation Center Supervisors will work under the direction of the Recreation Center Operations Coordinator and Aquatics Coordinator to manage a staff of student Recreation Center Attendants and Lifeguards as they carry out overall day-to-day operations in The Dixon Center and surrounding outdoor recreational facilities. This role also involves supervising, training, and evaluating staff and serving as the on-site operations manager during early morning, evening, and weekend shifts when professional staff may be off-site.
What You'll Do
- Manage and supervise a student staff of Recreation Center Attendants and Lifeguards to ensure safe, high-quality service at The Dixon Center and surrounding facilities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, with direct supervision, training, and support to staff.
- Work under the Recreation Center Operations Coordinator and Aquatics Coordinator and act as on-site operations manager during off-hours.
- Stay current on fitness and recreation programs and operational procedures to provide exceptional customer service to Villanova community members.
- Create a welcoming and positive experience for users and enforce recreation center policies.
- Assist in evaluating staff performance and ensuring appropriate staffing and operational support.
- Provide regular feedback to professional staff to refine policies, improve procedures, and enhance services offered.
- Attend ongoing Recreation Center Supervisor training sessions and contribute to the development and implementation of student employee training for Attendants and Lifeguards.
- Enact or assist in emergency response as needed.
