About the Role
Recreation Center Attendants support the day-to-day operations of The Dixon Center and nearby outdoor facilities under supervision. They enforce center policies, deliver courteous customer service to the Villanova community, and act as first responders in emergencies. This is a student position with varied shifts and a focus on safety and service.
What You'll Do
- Enforce recreation center policies and ensure a safe environment for users.
- Provide excellent customer service to Villanova community members.
- Serve as a first responder in emergencies and participate in required training.
- Assist with facility set-up and breakdown for events.
- Assist with reservation, distribution, and collection of fitness and recreation equipment.
- Launder gym towels.
- Inspect and assist in the maintenance and cleaning of equipment; report issues.
- Notify staff of custodial issues, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
- Stay current on fitness and recreation programs and operational procedures.
- Attend ongoing employee training sessions.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to monitor facilities and enforce policies to maintain a safe environment.
- Strong customer-service orientation and communication skills.
- Basic instruction on the operation of cardiovascular and weight-training equipment.
- Willingness to perform light custodial tasks and equipment maintenance.
- Able to lift up to 45 lbs and work in varied weather conditions for outdoor facility duties.
- Availability to work varied shifts (6 AM–11 PM) as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $10.00/hour
