Georgia-Pacific is seeking a motivated leader to join our Brunswick Cellulose team as a Recovery Superintendent. In this role, you will provide leadership and accountability for Recovery Boiler, Evaporator, Recausticizing, Lime Kiln, White Liquor, and Waste Treatment operations.
You will develop capable leaders and align people, processes, assets, and cross-functional resources to deliver safe, compliant, reliable, productive, and sustainable results.
Our Team
The Brunswick Cellulose facility is one of the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country, with a modern woodyard, fiber line, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The mill is located in Brunswick, Georgia, within minutes of downtown Brunswick and approximately an hour from Jacksonville, Florida, and Savannah, Georgia.
What You Will Do
- Lead safety and environmental performance through visible field leadership, disciplined risk controls, regulatory compliance, and accountability.
- Establish and sustain operating procedures, centerlines, standard work, shift routines, and abnormal-condition management across Recovery operations.
- Lead and develop direct reports and operating teams through clear expectations, coaching, qualification, cross-training, succession planning, and knowledge transfer.
- Improve equipment reliability and long-term asset health through proactive risk identification, root cause analysis, asset maintenance work processes, and sustainable corrective actions.
- Align Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Environmental, outage, project, and capital priorities based on risk and business impact.
- Improve cost competitiveness, energy efficiency, chemical recovery, productivity, and environmental performance through disciplined operations and continuous improvement.
- Support stable steam generation, liquor processing, cooking-chemical recovery, and wastewater treatment while clearly communicating priorities, risks, resource needs, and results across the mill.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience directly supervising and developing three or more employees.
- Experience identifying operational or equipment problems and implementing solutions.
- Experience leading continuous-improvement initiatives or implementing operating best practices.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Five or more years of experience in pulp and paper manufacturing, including experience in utilities and/or recovery operations.
- Experience leading projects in a pulp and paper utilities or recovery operation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience working with recovery boilers, evaporators, recausticizing systems, lime kilns, white liquor systems, and/or waste treatment operations.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Asset Maintenance Work Process, and Disciplined Operations.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process-improvement methodology experience.
