Real Time Intelligence Analyst

General Statement of Duties

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking interested candidates for the position of Intelligence Analyst in our Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC). This position will collect, evaluate, analyze, interpret, and summarize information from different Law Enforcement databases, camera surveillance, Intel networks, and geographical information. Work is primarily performed in an office setting under general supervision and is evaluated through observation and review of completed work. Some field work including the collection of digital evidence and camera repair will be required.

Distinguishing Features

This position is responsible for using intelligence to provide timely and relevant information through identifying crime patterns and trends to assist operational and administrative personnel in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention and suppression of crime, aid in the investigative process, increase arrests, and solve cases. The Intel Analyst will utilize real-time intel and camera views to assist responding officers, recommend response codes, routes and to protect officers and citizens. Works closely with various resources to facilitate the process of criminal analysis data to staff in a live environment. The position is responsible for quickly assessing problems, developing plans and effectively disseminate information.

NOTE: This position is classified as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible overtime compensation. Schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 8a-4p but may vary depending on agency need. The staff member will also be expected to work a rotating night-shift and on-call schedule.

Minimum Education and Experience

Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Audio/Video, Intelligence or related field and at least two years experience in law enforcement, crime analysis, military police, security analysis or closely related. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Advanced computer skills are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborates with service providers to streamline and facilitate expedient services to victims of crime.
Works with law enforcement and staff to analyze confidential information regarding criminal investigations
Provide support to staff with the use of computer based programs to disseminate intelligence software applications.
Works closely with other divisions to analyze crime data information while planning, creating and implementing strategic methods to reduce crime in the County.
Monitors video and camera based systems and uses analysis to compile and disseminate to intelligence staff.
Reviews incident reports and determines criteria for services and law enforcement follow-up.
Works closely with stakeholders to explain the Real Time Intelligence Center initiative and for access to existing systems.
Performs other related work as required.
