Job title: R&D Senior Process Engineer

About the Role The R&D Senior Process Engineer will lead Nonwoven Material Development & Sustaining activities for Owens & Minor's Global Products & Healthcare Services portfolio. The role focuses on designing, developing, prototyping, and commercializing new products, and sustaining existing lines, while guiding engineers on large programs.

What You'll Do

  • Lead workstreams of more complex projects or be primary owner for mid-size to large programs; work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Define product requirements, prototype concepts, develop manufacturable designs and test products to meet defined specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Supply.
  • Translate customer requirements into validatable market requirements and verifiable product requirements; interact with clinicians to gain feedback on current products and identify improvements.
  • Provide mentoring and work direction to lower level engineers; may supervise/lead technicians, co-ops or interns.
  • Review test protocols and reports for accuracy and completeness; analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet specs.
  • Create and document intellectual property according to company procedures.
  • Develop effective schedules with cross-functional teams; independently follow path/strategy and obtain buy-in; plan tasks with multiple variables and drive decisions.
  • Manage changes in products or processes with design control; propose options to resolve cross-functional conflicts and secure management support.
  • Stay aligned with cross-functional teammates to ensure successful execution of programs.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science related field.
  • 10 years' experience or equivalent balance of Education/Experience.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Advanced understanding of statistical analysis tools and software.
  • Experience with nonwoven processes related to Spunbond and Meltblown materials.
  • Experience supporting marketing/sales of nonwoven materials or finished products.
  • Knowledge of Quality System Regulations (Design Control and Process).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Supply.
  • Proven ability to translate customer needs into market/product requirements and manage design changes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience mentoring and coaching peers; ability to supervise/lead technicians, co-ops or interns.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Up to $125,000 per year plus 10% AIP bonus potential.
