When you join S&P Global Ratings, you join one of the world's leading providers of independent credit risk research and benchmarks. You will be part of a team that produces high-quality fundamental research and ratings based on established criteria. Our analytical practice groups include Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Sovereign and International Public Finance, and Infrastructure. This program is a dynamic 10-week summer training and development opportunity that begins in June 2027, offering meaningful exposure to credit analysis, collaborative project work, and engagement with experienced professionals across the business.

You will support S&P Global's mission of being the leading provider of high-quality risk evaluations and analytical insights to the world's financial markets.
Summer interns gain a thorough introduction to fundamental credit analysis, working alongside analytical teams within S&P Global Ratings - including in ratings committees and management meetings.
You will complete a group project throughout the summer program and have the opportunity to collaborate with peers and present your research and conclusions to a group of senior leaders.

Responsibilities

Team Contribution & Capability Building
Support the team in deal execution and analytical projects, contributing resourceful ideas in collaborative team discussions.
Work with assigned summer intern project teams to complete and present research findings and conclusions to senior leaders.
Core Analytical & Delivery
Build capability in credit rating methodologies by learning and applying standard analytical techniques.
Support analysts by providing timely and accurate quarterly financial statistics and data analysis.
Help maintain high-quality research, presentations, reporting, and financial models.
Use AI technologies responsibly as an enabler to analyze datasets and derive actionable insights within established analytical frameworks.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
Assist with preparing materials for rating committees and issuer management meetings, helping to produce clear, evidence-based narratives for stakeholder engagement.
Develop a client-oriented, solutions-focused mindset by observing and learning from service excellence in practice.
Risk Management and Operating
Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently throughout the internship.
Support supervised piloting and testing of new tools within defined guidelines.

What We're Looking For:

Education

Current undergraduate or postgraduate student in the penultimate year of study only.
We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines e.g. Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Math, Public Policy, Quantitative Analysis, Data and Statistics. This is as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking and storytelling e.g. Engineering and Sciences, Philosophy, Politics, Classics, Theology, English Language, English Literature and Languages.

Core Analytical & Delivery
The ability and desire to conduct your own analysis and research, showing initiative and a willingness to develop strong analytical skills.
Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with a willingness to develop data and automation capabilities.
Familiarity with AI tools and technologies, with an interest in their responsible and effective application within analytical workflows.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research and analysis in a clear, structured way that supports informed decision-making.
A solutions-oriented mindset focused on providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Risk Management and Operating
High standards for accuracy, traceability, and quality, with a commitment to responsible technology use - including protecting confidential information and ensuring AI-generated outputs are verified and appropriately attributed.
Additional Information
English: Required - Fluent (able to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally).
Candidates understand they are required to reside in the location of the internship throughout its entire duration.
Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process will be asked to attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended.
