RAMS Specialist

About the Role Join Kiewit's Systems Assurance Team as a RAMS Specialist focused on Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) across complex infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with our Systems Assurance Director, Systems Integration Leads, and the broader IETS team to define, assess, and achieve RAMS objectives throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring performance, risk, and lifecycle objectives are clearly defined and met in accordance with client requirements and standards. What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain RAMS plans, strategies, and lifecycle deliverables aligned with project, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform RAM analyses (FMECA/FMEA, Reliability Block Diagrams, availability/maintainability assessments, failure-rate analysis, MTTR) and reliability predictions.
• Review and assess system designs for RAMS implications; manage RAMS requirements allocation, interfaces, and verification across architectures and suppliers.
• Apportion project-level RAMS targets to system, subsystem, and component levels using structured methods (RBDs, FMECA) in line with design intent.
• Contribute RAM-related inputs to Engineering Safety Cases, assurance reports, and lifecycle documentation; ensure traceability to project objectives.
• Review contractual RAMS, performance, and security requirements to support compliance and verification.
• Conduct independent peer reviews of analyses; support maintenance and LRU strategies to balance reliability and lifecycle cost.
• Review supplier RAMS documentation and resolve non-compliances with the project team.
• Develop RAMS demonstration plans, FRACAS procedures, and collaborate with Project Management and field teams.
• Ensure RAMS processes are applied by all stakeholders throughout the lifecycle; align analyses with EN 50126 lifecycle (V-model), Canadian Method of Risk Evaluation and Assessment, MIL-STD-882.
• Support Threat and Vulnerability Assessments and integration of security requirements into design. What We're Looking For
• Experience applying RAMS across infrastructure projects; ability to work with engineering, safety, operations, and maintenance teams.
• Proficiency with RAMS methods (FMECA/FMEA, RBDs, MTTR, reliability prediction) and governance across interfaces and suppliers.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (EN 50126, MIL-STD-882) and assurance case development; ability to perform peer reviews and support lifecycle documentation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to interface with multi-disciplinary teams; willingness to travel to project sites. Nice to Have
