About the role
Provide clinical care in dentistry under appropriate supervision, managing patients in outpatient and inpatient settings with decreasing levels of supervision, while contributing to the safe and effective operation of the dentistry service.
Responsibilities
- Provide largely independent assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in dentistry, appropriate to the level of the role, referring complex cases appropriately.
- Support consultant-led clinics, ward rounds and procedures.
- Supervise and support medical officers and trainees, contributing to their development, and participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and patient-safety activities.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal clinical policy.
- Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with other services and supporting managed-care/HMO processes through evidence-based, cost-effective practice.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Radiography / Medical Radiography (B.Rad / BSc Radiography) from a recognised institution, or an equivalent recognised radiography qualification.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of post-registration/post-internship experience in the relevant profession; newly registered practitioners may be considered.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of radiographic technique and imaging across relevant modalities.
- Competence in patient positioning and image acquisition.
- Sound understanding of radiation protection and safety.
- Competent operation and basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
- Accurate record-keeping and competent use of imaging/RIS systems.
