About the Role Logan Health is seeking a Radiation Therapist to deliver radiation therapy and simulation to patients under the direction of Radiation Oncologists. This role supports our mission of quality, compassionate care and requires strong clinical skills, confidentiality, and teamwork in a patient-centered environment. What You'll Do
- Provide radiation therapy and simulation to patients using a variety of radiation therapy equipment and software.
- Verify and implement radiation therapy prescriptions for simulation and treatment as instructed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Document per department procedures, including chart checks, accurate and timely billing, and final treatment course.
- Schedule patients timely while considering staffing and budget constraints.
- Maintain detailed records of technical, legal, and statistical components of treatment.
- Use image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) within scope and Radiation Oncologist approval.
- Perform conventional and IMRT therapy and CT simulation.
- Stay abreast of current treatment options to enhance care and/or support billing.
- Maintain technical proficiency in current radiation oncology practices and procedures.
- Evaluate patient treatment and condition, identify needs for symptomatic or emotional support, and refer as appropriate.
- Participate in orientation and education for new employees and students; complete training for new procedures and equipment.
- Perform QA essential to safe patient handling, including machine warm-up (TrueBeam LINACs, OSMS, CT, RPM, CRAD).
- Conduct treatment and simulation for brachytherapy, PET simulation, 4DCT, DIBH, SBRT, SRS, FSRS per orders; collaborate to fit into workflow.
- Ensure safety, quality, and performance improvement; address concerns and uphold patient and radiation safety.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, professional communication, openness to change, and willingness to take on expanded duties.
- Maintain regular attendance as scheduled. What We're Looking For
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy or eligibility to take the ARRT certification exam and must obtain within six months of hire.
- RQI Provider (BLS) within seven days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care.
- Understanding of confidentiality laws governing the provider–patient relationship (HIPAA).
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter with critical thinking; ability to set priorities and work in a team or independently.
- Commitment to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality.
- High standards and quality outcomes; integrity, kindness, and empathy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive/confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
