About this role
About This Role:
Join Product Development at the front end of innovation, where engineers explore promising technologies for future wearable biosensing solutions. You will contribute to feasibility studies, prototype development, sensor evaluation, structured experimentation, and data analysis. You will learn how clinical needs and engineering evidence shape product decisions while building experience working through ambiguity and communicating technical findings in a regulated environment.
In this role, you will contribute directly to early-stage engineering efforts to develop wearable bio-sensors, collaborating alongside a team of multi-disciplinary engineers. You will be treated as a regular member of the engineering team, inclusive of involvement in critical projects, expectation of high-quality deliverables, and accountability for the work you do.
Responsibilities & Opportunities:
Specific job responsibilities and opportunities may include:
- Supporting early-stage research and scientific feasibility efforts to evaluate promising technologies for incorporation into wearable sensing solutions
- Conducting user studies to collect data from sensors on human subjects
- Developing and executing test protocols to characterize prototypes
- Identifying and applying various signal processing and analysis techniques to improve our understanding of data using Python or R
- Engaging in rapid prototyping activities, e.g., using evaluation kits and creating basic 3D models in SolidWorks
- Working with lab equipment like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
- Gaining exposure to the healthcare environment, particularly evaluation of clinical needs and use cases
- Working alongside a technical team to rapidly prototype electromechanical hardware platforms or fixtures
- Learning to be creative, flexible, and agile during research and early development stages at a medical device company
- Contributing to generation of intellectual property
