As the organization’s subject matter expert in French language quality, this role ensures that all content meets the highest standards in grammar, clarity, tone, and brand alignment. It acts as the final quality gate before publication, ensuring all materials are accurate, polished, and ready for all audiences.

This role will also support the translation team, notably by taking on responsibility for content translation when necessary.

What you will do

  • Editorial Quality & Proofreading
  • Proofread and revise all French-language content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
  • Ensure content is polished, publication-ready, and aligned with brand voice
  • Review and validate content translated by internal translation function and external vendors
  • Act as the final quality gate for all written French communications, including key assets (GS+, GreenShield website, and client-facing systems and portals)
  • Identify recurring quality issues and provide feedback to improve translation outputs over time

Terminology & Editorial Standards

  • Support the implementation of the French language term base (lexicon) outlining key wording choices to ensure consistent and accurate use of French language in alignment with the tone GreenShield chooses to communicate in within the Quebec market
  • Support development and implementation of glossaries, style guides, and editorial references
  • Conduct terminology research to ensure accuracy and relevance for Quebec and Francophone audiences

Collaboration & Workflow Support

  • Partner closely with the Quebec Communications Advisor to ensure content is both effective and linguistically sound
  • Support the translation team to ensure they understand the tone, messaging and linguistic choices to align with the Quebec market communications strategy
  • Support high content volumes by contributing to editing, rewriting, or translating when needed
  • Help streamline workflows by ensuring high “right-first-time” quality and minimizing rework

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Journalism, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in French-language editing, proofreading, translation, or linguistic quality assurance across a variety of communications types
  • Strong proofreading and revision skills in French, with a solid attention to detail and a good command of grammar, syntax, and stylistic conventions
  • Strong understanding of Quebec French linguistic norms, terminology, and cultural nuance
  • Experience reviewing and improving translated content to ensure clarity, consistency, and natural flow in French
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and strong proficiency in English
