About this role
About the Role
The Quantum Researcher role at Wipro leads the identification and validation of quantum use cases within client domains, assessing ROI, feasibility and scalability. You will translate business constraints into quantum or hybrid quantum–classical solutions, lead presales activities and client demos, and collaborate with engineering/research teams to ensure technical viability. You will also evangelize quantum concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. What You'll Do
-
Identify, define and validate quantum use cases in your domain (e.g., finance, healthcare, supply chain) with ROI, feasibility and scalability.
-
Deep dive into customer data, constraints and business processes to map to quantum/hybrid solutions.
-
Lead presales: craft proposals, solution architectures, cost/benefit models; respond to RFPs; differentiate quantum offerings.
-
Prepare and deliver demos and prototypes at the innovation center to showcase capabilities to clients/prospects.
-
Work closely with engineering/research teams to ensure technical viability and manage risk.
-
Evangelize quantum internally and externally: workshops, whitepapers, speaking engagements, and communicating technical material to non-technical stakeholders.
-
Proven track record of leading deals, demos and customer engagements.
-
Research and develop novel quantum / hybrid quantum-classical algorithms (e.g., error mitigation, noise resilience, optimization, simulation).
-
Engage with academic institutions: joint projects, publications, student supervision, workshops.
-
Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with niche quantum startups and technology providers.
-
Publish in top conferences / journals; represent the organisation in forums, conferences, standards bodies.
-
Assist product / engineering teams in translating research insights into prototypes / proof-of-concepts.
-
Maintain awareness of latest scientific developments, benchmark emerging hardware, simulate algorithm performance. What We're Looking For
-
PhD in Physics / Mathematics / Quantum Information Science or equivalent; Total Experience: PhD plus ~3-7 years post PhD (or equivalent research); Quantum-Specific Experience: 4-7 years in quantum algorithm/theory/simulation research.
-
Deep experience in consulting / solution architecture / presales or domain expertise.
-
Good understanding of quantum computing paradigms, algorithmic possibilities, current limitations.
-
Good business acumen; ability to quantify business value; skilled in communication.
-
Strong theoretical grounding; experience with quantum algorithms, error correction, simulation tools.
-
Track record of publications; ability to conduct independent research.
-
Collaborative, with ability to liaise across academia & industry.
-
Good coding / simulation skills (Python, C++, knowledge of quantum simulators and maybe early hardware).
-
Location: Bangalore. Nice to Have
-
Experience engaging with academic institutions, joint projects, publications, student supervision, and workshops.
-
Proven ability to establish partnerships with niche quantum startups and technology providers.
-
Track record of publishing in top conferences/journals and representing the organisation in forums/standards bodies.
-
Experience translating research insights into prototypes or proofs of concept for product teams.
