Job Summary
- Manage and oversee all aspects related costs estimates and financial aspects of building construction projects ensuring they are all completed within projected budget and schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities / Deliverables
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and other project-related expenses.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are effectively controlled and maintained within the allocated budget.
Tender Preparation:
- Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including Bills of Quantities (BoQ), for submission to contractors and suppliers.
Contract Administration:
- Manage and administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions and assisting in the resolution of disputes.
Cost Control:
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process, identifying and addressing cost overruns, variations, and other financial risks.
Financial Reporting:
- Provide regular financial reports and updates to project stakeholders, detailing cost performance, expenditure, forecasts, and projections.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks related to project costs and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate such risks.
Value Engineering:
- Evaluate and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering solutions without compromising the quality, functionality, or performance of the project.
Project Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including cost records, contracts, Bills of Quantities, valuations, payment certificates, variations, and correspondence.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure that cost-related objectives are met and projects are delivered successfully.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Surveying Engineering from a reputable University Relevant Post-Graduate degree will be added advantage.
- Membership of Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years experience with a construction company or Estate Management/ Valuation firm.
- Experience in construction supervision required.
- Certificate in Project Management in desirable.
