Job Summary
- We are seeking a competent, detail-oriented and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to support the cost and commercial management of our real estate development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Carry out quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings.
- Analyse drawings and specifications for accurate measurement and costing.
- Obtain and analyse current market prices for materials, labour and services.
- Assist with tender preparation, evaluation and contractor selection.
- Review contractors’ quotations and commercial proposals.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Prepare valuations, payment certificates and cost reports.
- Assess variations, claims and additional works.
- Support procurement and contractor/vendor negotiations.
- Maintain accurate cost records and project documentation.
- Participate in site meetings and project reviews.
- Assist with contract administration and final accounts.
- Advise management on cost control and cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years’ relevant experience in construction or real estate development.
- QSRBN membership/registration is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and costs.
- Good knowledge of BOQs, measurement, estimating and cost control.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of tendering and procurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software.
- CostX, Buildsoft, AutoCAD or similar experience is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to visit project sites when required.
