Quality Specialist
About the Role As a Quality Specialist with Ganotec/Kiewit, you will be responsible for inspections and tests within a defined scope (e.g., welding, piping, concrete, mechanical, electrical). You will work to understand project scope and schedule, and ensure quality requirements are met and documented across the site. What You'll Do
- Engage with clients to listen to concerns and communicate quality progress and challenges.
- Thoroughly study and internalize the Project Quality Plan and related quality management documents for your scope.
- Identify quality requirements from contract specs, codes, and industry standards; ensure work aligns with criteria.
- Interpret codes and standards to assess compliance and guide inspection activities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP) tailored to project needs.
- Coordinate inspection schedules with operations, subcontractors, third-party inspectors, and clients to facilitate workflow.
- Conduct inspections and testing as defined by the ITP; document outcomes precisely.
- Generate detailed inspection and test reports; maintain quality records for audit readiness.
- Identify and report nonconforming work; manage NCRs through to closure.
- Perform source and receiving inspections of materials and plant equipment before deployment.
- Participate in planning meetings by providing expert quality input for task execution and risk mitigation. What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience on oil & gas projects with a proven track record of QA/QC across multiple trades.
- Proficiency coordinating disciplines within QA activities to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Willingness and ability to travel and relocate; flexible work lifestyle.
- Strong adherence to procedures; excellent organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Educational credentials: an associate degree in engineering technology or science with at least two years' relevant construction experience, including one year in QA/QC; or a high school diploma/equivalent with four years related experience, including two years in QA/QC.
- In-depth knowledge of inspection and testing methods for your trade; familiarity with special processes relevant to QA.
- Working knowledge of construction industry codes and standards such as ASME, TSSA, ESA, and CWB.
- Welding inspection experience is an asset.

- Salary range: $90,000 - $115,000 per year.
