Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides quality leadership and oversight for products, services, and installations across the region, with potential specialization in Liquid Cooling, Thermal, Power, Data Center, and other critical infrastructure environments.
This is a highly field-oriented quality leadership role requiring extensive hands-on experience in active construction, installation, commissioning, startup, and customer-site environments. The successful candidate must possess a strong foundation in Quality Management principles, root cause analysis, corrective actions, inspections, audits, and continuous improvement, while also demonstrating the ability to apply those disciplines in real-world project and construction settings.
Approximately 70% travel is required, with significant time spent at customer locations, active construction sites, commissioning activities, and field-service operations. The individual must be comfortable working directly with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, construction teams, commissioning personnel, field service engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve quality concerns. This role requires the ability to evaluate installation workmanship, construction practices, commissioning activities, and field execution, while serving as the primary quality advocate to ensure project requirements, customer expectations, and Vertiv quality standards are consistently achieved.
The role is responsible for identifying, resolving, and preventing quality issues throughout the project and service lifecycle. This includes performing site inspections, supporting commissioning and installation activities, investigating field quality concerns, coordinating corrective actions, and ensuring work performed by Vertiv teams and third-party contractors meets applicable quality requirements.
The individual will serve as a customer advocate for product, installation, construction, and service quality and must be comfortable representing Vertiv directly with customers in active project environments.
This position also supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems, processes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable international and industry standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Construction & Site Quality
-
Maintain a strong field presence at active customer, construction, installation, commissioning, and service locations.

Conduct on-site quality inspections, audits, assessments, and walkthroughs to identify quality risks and verify compliance with project requirements.

Provide hands-on quality support during equipment installation, startup, commissioning, testing, and turnover activities.

Evaluate construction and installation workmanship and identify conditions that could impact product performance, reliability, safety, or customer acceptance.

Work directly with general contractors, subcontractors, field service personnel, commissioning teams, project managers, engineering teams, and customers to resolve site-level quality concerns.

Investigate field quality issues and lead or support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

Document site observations, inspection findings, nonconformances, corrective actions, and lessons learned through detailed trip reports and quality documentation.

Ensure quality issues identified in the field are appropriately escalated, tracked, resolved, and communicated to stakeholders.

Support project and customer quality requirements throughout construction, commissioning, and final project turnover.

Maintain the flexibility necessary to travel frequently and respond to project/site quality issues as business needs require.

Service Quality
-
Develop a deep understanding of data and field conditions impacting service and product quality.

Lead cross-functional teams in the resolution of significant quality issues and customer inquiries.

Drive continuous quality improvement within assigned areas and support Vertiv Operating System initiatives.

Facilitate best-practice and lessons-learned sharing across the region.

Manage Process Risk Analysis and RCCM activities.
-
Support implementation, deployment, and sustainment of the Quality Management System.
-
Maintain Quality Management System documentation, including trip reports, audits, inspections, and corrective-action documentation.

Coordinate periodic Quality Management System reviews and report results to regional leadership.

Perform internal audits and monitor corrective actions.
-
Support applicable ISO audits and interactions with external certification bodies.

Product & Service Quality
-
Deploy, train, and audit quality policies, standards, and procedures across service, construction, manufacturing, and third-party activities.

Partner with business and field leaders to drive corrective actions for service, installation, construction, and manufacturing-related quality issues.

Identify recurring field issues and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and Product teams to implement permanent corrective actions.

Provide feedback from field and construction environments to improve product quality, installation processes, serviceability, and reliability.

Customer Quality
-
Serve as a quality representative and customer advocate at project and customer sites.
-
Coordinate customer claims and field quality investigations.
-
Participate in and coordinate customer audits, site inspections, and quality reviews.
-
Manage resulting corrective and improvement actions.

Conduct quality-related reviews of customer contract documentation and project requirements.
-
Communicate technical and quality issues effectively with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Supplier & Third-Party Quality

Support Regional and Global Supplier Quality and Supply Chain teams by providing field-based quality expertise.

Evaluate quality concerns involving suppliers, subcontractors, and third-party service or installation providers.

Support supplier claims and corrective-action processes.

Assist in implementing and maintaining common supplier quality documentation with key suppliers and contractors.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Provide weekly reporting of relevant Quality KPIs, field/service quality concerns, project issues, corrective actions, and product issues.

Identify trends across projects and sites and recommend preventive actions.

Capture lessons learned from field quality issues and ensure they are communicated to applicable functions.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent technical certification and significant relevant field experience may be considered.

8–10+ years of relevant engineering, quality, construction, commissioning, field service, or technical operations experience.

Demonstrated hands-on experience working in active construction, industrial, data center, critical infrastructure, or similar project-site environments.

Strong understanding of construction processes, installation practices, site quality control, inspections, commissioning, and QA/QC requirements.

Experience working directly with general contractors, subcontractors, construction teams, commissioning teams, field service personnel, and customers.

Ability to recognize installation and workmanship quality issues in an active field environment and drive issues through resolution.

Experience supporting complex equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and project turnover strongly preferred.

Thermal, Power, Data Center, Mission Critical, or Critical Environment experience strongly preferred.

Working knowledge of quality systems, tools, standards, and audit practices.

Experience with inspections, commissioning (Cx), QA/QC, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action processes.

Strong problem-solving skills with experience using 8D or comparable structured problem-solving methodologies.

Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Teams, and remote communication tools.
