Job title: Quality Manager

About the Role The Quality Manager at Sonoco's Bradford site focuses on safety and quality, leading audits, and driving continuous improvement across functions. This role partners with Sales, Technology and Production to implement New Products, Product Improvements and Cost Reduction programs, using data and lean tools to improve quality and reduce waste.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure the safety of yourself and colleagues by performing safety observations/audits during plant visits and sharing findings and recommendations with the plant leadership team.
  • Maintain quality and hygiene management systems and facilitate internal audits and external certification audits.
  • Work with other departments to prepare internal policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with customers and suppliers to agree and prepare standards and specifications.
  • Direct involvement in customer complaints to establish root cause and implement corrective actions, and handle internal complaints related to purchased materials.
  • Liaise with purchasing and suppliers to ensure investigations result in robust corrective actions.
  • Serve as the quality contact for liaising with Customer, Sales, Technology and Production to implement New Products, Product Improvements and Cost Reduction programs.
  • Demonstrate superior use of data, root cause analysis and lean tools to improve quality and eliminate waste; demonstrate expertise in Process CAPA.
  • Maintain ongoing process improvements and support certifications.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience implementing and maintaining safety and quality management systems.
  • Ability to perform safety observations/audits and communicate findings.
  • Experience facilitating internal audits and external certification audits.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration to develop internal policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Experience working with customers and suppliers to establish standards and specifications.
  • Direct involvement in customer complaints, root cause analysis and corrective actions, and internal complaints related to purchased materials.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, root cause analysis and lean tools to drive quality improvements.
  • Knowledge of Process CAPA and driving robust corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication with Customer, Sales, Technology and Production teams.
